Trip up the coast

We headed up the coast to look for some fish today.  Unfortunately conditions were a bit unpleasant on the coast and so we ended up trying a few hours on the Coquet.  We only managed one solitary flounder in 4 hrs.

With very little fish around we ended up using the vast amount of space to do a bit of casting.
At high water this part of the estuary has a good 350yds of water to cast across.  Add to that a very open casting area on the grassy river bank and you have the ideal place to swing a lead safely.
